April 2021
This piece is a juxtaposition of fast and slow. In life we go and go and sometimes I stop and think of Georgia O'Keefe's words, "nobody sees a flower - really - it is so small - we haven't time - and to see takes time". So I thought of the idea to sculpt flowers out of my To-Do lists.
One of my co-workers commissioned me to do this painting for her. There was a sign like it at the boardwalk she used to always visit and she especially loved that it was Springsteen lyrics! Made from recycled barn-wood. I even upcylced scraps of trim from when I redid my bathroom to secure the two pieces together in the back!
Mixed Media piece, "Grow" in the making. Linoleum block printmaking on canvas. Linoleum, paper, and canvas all upcycled and rescued from the scrap bin!
